Downtown coworking space expands
A downtown Cincinnati coworking space is nearly doubling its footprint to meet growing demand.
1628 Ltd. has signed a lease to add 5,000 square feet of space in the historic Doctor’s Building at 11 Garfield Place. The art-filled space originally spanned 6,000 square feet and opened in 2016.
“The needs of nimble teams, corporate clients and startups continue to expand,” the company said in a statement. “More and more, potential coworkers seek private offices and reserved desks while avoiding the upkeep and expenses of a traditional office lease.”
The expansion will allow 1628 to offer daily, weekly and monthly passes for individuals who don’t want a long-term commitment to a space. The additional space will also allow 1628 to dedicate more area to hosting events in its six conference rooms and two large-scale rooms with open floor plans.
1628, which was launched by Procter & Gamble Co. veteran Tamara Schwarting, offers concierge services, professional networks and other amenities.
